    I always marvel at the pictures in this thread, we all have most of these flowers in our gardens, but a good well framed picture can really lift an "ordinary" flower.

      Wow - last day of August already and the chimney is still on fire:

          Most of my Fuchsia have struggled this year but Hawkshead and David by the back door are starting to look good now.....................

          Koralle Fulgens which is on the shed roof has recovered well from spending the winter outdoors...............

          Also on the kitchen roof is Salvia discolor...................

          Nicotiana glauca (Tree Nicotiana) has been a star this year..................

          Ledebouria socialis will bloom its heart out as long as the slugs don't get to it.................

          Finally, Caiophora hibiscifolia - my favourite new thing this year...............

                      Me too. I dislike the big blousy ones and Hawkshead is about as pure and simple as it gets. Best white in the garden too.

                        Mine too - any idea why that was? I had assumed after mild winter they would be away early and fit-to-bust. They are only just now carrying a decent amount of flower, and the plants are not very big ...

                        I've taken cuttings with a view to creating a clump, rather than single plants, for future years.

                        Nope! Quite a common complaint though. Although the Triphylla group have done rather well.
                        I did wonder if the sudden change to summer weather had anything to do with it?

                        Found it in a book last night, apparently it's a wildflower called Cinquefoil. But on Google pics I couldn't see the same, so I think it is Potentilla thurberi. :)
