Here's a few from this morning. Came back from 8 days holiday to a lot more flowers and our soaker hose set up has kept the pots alive. (I have a lot of things in pots ATM as we are building a new garage with a new border against it).

I picked every last sweet pea and cosmos before going away, yet came back to this: (I have 3 areas like this as they are flowers for my wedding on the 28th)

And here's the aforementioned pots...one third are dahlias which I'm keeping in containers as the digging last year was too much. The rest are a mostly roses and shrubs for the new border.

From your young son's point of view, at least it was worth waiting for nFrost. :)

                      My Gunnera
                      Gunnera magellenica .JPG
As you can see from the normal size pine cones this not the usual Gunnera. I have neither the space or a suitably damp spot for the giant form. So this is Gunnera magellenica from the southern tip of South America, likes a damp shady spot but definitely hardy and with me evergreen.

Our biggest hydrangea. Tried dying it blue which worked with the small ones but think this was too big.

My favourite part at the moment. I just love dahlias. The white hydrangea was grown from an offshoot but has overtaken the original plant! Roses are in pots awaiting the new border. The yellow dahlia is planted but just trying to escape!

My border with next doors garden. For the last 30 years this was a conifer hedge. New neighbours moved in last xmas and one of the first things they did was to remove the conifers. A small investment on my part for one packet each of sweet peas and dahlias and jobs a goodun.
