Desfontainia spinosa is in its second flush now (forgive the knackered fence in the background - it was going to be replaced but now it looks like I've bought the land behind so it will just be going).................

Hi everybody ,I haven't deserted you but I'm up in London during the week days so as to be with my poorly sis. Despite phone calls from hubs telling me about the strong winds and heavy rains and how battered the garden was looking ....I was very relieved to see it was not too bad when I came home for the weekend.....here are a few pics from today IMG_20170806_151720.jpg IMG_20170806_151614.jpg IMG_20170806_133146.jpg IMG_20170806_151325.jpg IMG_20170806_151347.jpg IMG_20170806_151032.jpg IMG_20170806_151154.jpg

My unknown crocosmia is looking fab at the moment.

It is about the size of montbretia, so much smaller than 'Lucifer', and flowers now, so later than 'Lucifer'. The flowers are red, not orange, but not quite as red as 'Lucifer' - there is definitely a hint of orange to them. It is compact and floriferous, and I love it. I only have the one clump, but it is very dense, so I plan to divide it this autumn, which should give me eleventy billion corms to replant!

Does anyone have an idea what variety it might be?

The Japanese anemones are looking good too. A nice deep pink double with super dark foliage. Variety, anyone, please?

It's not a very colourful time in our garden at the moment, but the fruit and veg are doing well. All our different type of beans are growing like mad, as are the courgettes, and the chillies are ready for delivering to the Bangladeshi community around here.
