The pot goes outdoors for the summer and lives in my woodwork shed over the winter.

@Gail_68 Its all looking good. The way you've framed your bird bath looks really classy.

I had a Virginia creeper that did really well. I was thinking of something similar to hide my water butt. I think that one is a bit too big and vigorous for what I need.

Hello Gary, thanks mate regarding the bird bath and my plants are even better this year than I've ever known them....regarding the virginia creeper it's took 8yrs to get to that growth but come autumn the colours are stunning the more it matures...I think you'd be ok with it because it's easy on being cut to how you want it, so you just wouldn't let it over grow and like I mentioned once it's kicked off and thickened out, you'd get nice colour :)

Posted in the rose section already, but couldn't resist posting here too, because it's looking so beautiful.

Petunia hybrid grown from seeds - suprisingly rain and wind resistant :) in a company of wild achillea - love it too:

My combination of salvia and coleus is doing brilliantly. When I bought them I didn't know what to expect. My wife likes them too, which is a bonus.

There are 2 coreopsis plants in here. They are doing very well. Last year I bought enchanted eve -lil bang. It didn't survive the winter. I'm hoping these are going to do better.

                      G.

EDIT - will the first pot come back next year or will I have to start again? Next year I might try the same thing in a bigger pot.

Looks fabulous Gary...no wonder you are pleased :)

No, the plants will die back in autumn....you can take cuttings now though. The coleus will provide lots of blue flowers now and for several weeks so just enjoy what you have created there:)

IMG_5267.JPG My tithonias still looking good. Since early June they have been a joy :) They fill a space 10 or 12' across and stand 7' plus tall. I dont think anything has outperformed them this summer
