I have found that with Echinacea it is best to divide them every two or three years. We have had them for a number of years now. The large white Echinacea will be divided into three plants in late October and we will do the same with the Gaillardia aristata next to it.

Pretty sure is was well before 2018, I may have had to reregister at that time due to email address change, etc but it's good to recognise some familiar names

I am guessing Amsonia tabernaemontana or Texas Starr, also known as Eastern Blue Star native to North America.

@ARMANDII My echinacea magnus are a good 5 year old at least , I do keep expecting them to kick the bucket but they have returned again this year. I am changing them next year to Echinacea pallida which is supposed to be a true long term perennial.

Thanks for that info, Perki. As you know my garden soil is very sandy and light loam in which for some reason I hardly have ever got any Echinaceas to last more than two seasons. Rudbeckias do very well and establish quickly which is why I've introduced another 9 or so pots of them into the borders. Monarda do very well in my large 24" pots but Echinaceas..........:wallbanging:
I'll keep chasing the challenge of getting Echinaceas to be permanent in the borders,

                    Echinacea Pallida
                    upload_2020-8-14_18-10-23.jpeg

so I might give Echinacea "Pallida" a try and we can compare notes on how we both do (echoes of Alliums:heehee:). I've put it on the "Wishlist" on several growers to see if I can get it for Autumn planting. I might also try " Magnus" as an experiment to see if that will last long than two season.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

Yes, lagerstroemia, not full out yet, but could be good this year if the weather keeps up.

Yes white first night and peach the following night.
