Ah ha, Japanese Anenome and Indigofera ... think I had seeds a long time ago for the latter.

It's Indigofera tinctoria @Victoria, there are several species. I don't know why I didn't put that name on the photo, I usually use the botanical names.
      I've changed it now.

I could say this tree is looking good, pretty with red berries -but what is it and what can i expect?
The graft part of it has died off - bought as a Weeping Blossom Tree -compact and 5ft in height.

New roots started to sprouted 2 year ago at the base , and as grown to 5ft.
I kept it growing out of inquisitiveness really; "you never know it could be a bonus"

Today I moved it from a south facing wall to a part shade corner of the garden "can anyone help with the name?

Could it be a cotoneaster of some kind?

Its a slow old year, but the hardy? Sinningia tubiflora is coming out, and I've managed to keep Sesbania punicea, for the third year.

If your right Pete, I will have to keep it in a pot as I've read that many of the species of cotoneaster available in garden centres are highly invasive.

                          I might be wrong.

I've never really heard of Cotoneaster being actually invasive, the birds do eat the berries and so spread the seed, but that happens with lots of plants that have berries.

For the first time this season I've watered my tomatoes with fertilizer for the 2nd time this week! They are getting big & heavy with toms now so they will benefit from an extra feed a week for the next month or so!

I didn't need to water the hanging baskets today nor the Petunias. I did feed the Calla Lilies a 2nd time this week as well as the Carnation seedlings. But I shan't be repeating that or the seedlings will likely curl up & die on me!

I deadheaded the Petunias but they are getting worse almost daily. :( I will have to throw them away at the end of the month :(

My 'Morning Glory' climbers are climbing up the strings & are now as high as me!
