My purple Passiflora has put on a foot of growth in the last few weeks,
Sophora Microphylla has a few flowers already, @shiney has a big one, I've seen It!:hate-shocked: is it in flower?

Ooh, You are awful!! :rolleyespink:  But I like you :heehee:

Ours has only just opened today :blue thumb: but isn't quite as open as yours.

Mrs Shiney has just cut the Passiflora right back. She's kept the main stems, about 8ft high and 12ft spread, but cut about 20ft off each side.

Not exactly looking good but the roses are still trying hard despite the weather conditions. :)

Nothing special. Just bits and pieces.

We've been tidying up a lot and I'm working on trimming the lawn edges. I'm, sort of, LE OCD :heehee:

Like Strongy, the Sophora is flowering quite early but mine isn't as advanced as his.

The artichokes are growing like mad but there are a few heads left for the wild life. I've just noticed in this photo that the rhubarb is coming up. :)

@NigelJ - S.leucantha is not such a surprise but S.involucrata :wow: Let's hope that this mild weather hasn't got a sting in its tail.

S involucrata has been flowering since midsummer; it is slightly sheltered from the worst of the wind. S confertiflora and S guaranatica "Black and Blue" are still flowering but not looking good.
I would appreciate a cold spell as the weeds are growing like mad, nothing too sharp just a few frosts and nights below 5°C

S.confertiflora (in a large pot)has only just come into bloom here. "Black and Blue" (which is planted out) was cut down to the ground a few weeks ago by -5°c. So was S.urica which I considered tender but all of them to a man are coming back from the base so it may be hardier than I thought for short periods. I should have seed if you want to try it in Devon.

I sort of know what you mean but as a result of this mild spell it would not be so good. Vestia foestida has very advanced buds and the Cerinthe and Nigella orientalis seeds that I scattered about are germinating.

Definitely not looking good, but a very crude bit of protection for the Echiums when they suddenly forecast frost. We put some empty wire hanging baskets over the plants and then interwove (very crudely) some stems of grasses. I don't know how effective it will be but we'll know in the Spring :noidea:

First of the daffs were out on boxing day. The cape daisy has also sprung into life. Spring is on the way, but it'll get a lot colder before then!

It would be nice but I fear a sting in winters tail still.

The longrange forecast, for Shineyland, shows mild'ish' all winter with nothing below zero and no snow.
