What's Looking Good In February 2022

Everything is on the move now, bulbs erupting through the soil and buds forming or popping into beautiful cheery blooms.

 

Love them Upsy ... they are not things I can grow.

 

No Vicky they are definitely cool climate plants......and we're definitely cool man !

 

Hellebore, the only one in flower.



Acacia is flowering well now, unlike last year when all the flower buds burnt off in a freezing gale.

Crocus.

 

That Heather is amazing and I love all the Hellebores, especially the purple ones.

 

Lovely @JWK we've got a Sarcococca in the front garden and the fragrance is amazing.

 

Things starting to come away. This gorgeous iris opened today and my little Hebe doing well

You can buy Dandelion seeds here ... I have never seen them growing here!

 

You can over here as well Chiltern Seeds sell them for salad leaves.

 

@NigelJ, beautiful snowdrops, interesting that you have different varieties. Most of my snowdrops' flowers haven't opened yet, and those that have look small, with relatively large leaves, maybe just me.

 

@groundbeetle You can get Galanthus nivalis flore pleno (Double common snowdrop) in the green at this time of year fairly cheaply. Most of mine have been picked up at plant sales over the years, others I have just bought one or two bulbs, from specialist nurseries, and then they have bulked up.
They do benefit from being split up when the clumps get crowded, after the flowers are finished I will mark clumps that need splitting with sticks and then when the leaves have died down I'll dig them up and spread them out/move to new spots.
