    Lovely pics everyone,

I have these and I`m very proud, because this is usually my scruffy bit of the garden.

Thankyou Strongy, I can`t for the life of me remember what they are called though, I`m afraid I`m a very bad gardener for doing that.

I love dwarf Iris and the tiny 4-6 inch tall purple ones grow wild on the lane outside my gates. I think your lovely one is possibly Iris histrioides.'Katharine Hodgkin'. The wild white ones are covering the roadsides here at the moment.

Having started this month off with my first bloom on my Cherry Plum tree, it is now in full bloom and I'm looking forward to my first year of fruit ... (says she crossing everything in sight) ....

Stopping off at Lidl yesterday I noticed the Magnolias in full bloom, which I thought was rather early. However, I have looked at the pictures I took last year and they were taken on 22 February ... so 'tis the time for them. :)

Oh, lovely, lovely everybody and thanks for sharing. :gnthb:

Like strongy, I had the flags a couple of times but for some odd reason, never got them to appear, never mind bloom, in the second year. Never seen one the colour of yours, Claire, very pretty, almost like a painting.

I have my fingers and toes crossed as well for you, Sis!

I went up into the mountains yesterday and all the Acacias are coming into full bloom and the air is heady with a wonderful honey scent. I didn't get pictures but am going back up later in the week perhaps so will try and get some good shots.

In the meantime, the owner of the restaurant we went to gave me this bunch of Acacias as I was leaving, a mix of A longifolia and A melanoxylon, so I'm enjoying them on my kitchen patio ....

I'm sure Claire's lovely present from her children is Iris histrioides.'Katharine Hodgkin' as mentioned above .... I had them, along with some plain mini / dwarf purple ones ... they are so unique.

Bob, the cherry blossoms are plums ... 'cherry plums' the P i s s a rdi which are tiny plums which look like cherries .... do you not know them?

Hey ... well done with germination of the Cannas ... looking forward to seeing some flower pics later this year ,,,, :yho:
