You could always go in under the cover of darkness, incognito and help yourself

 

Why do you think my new "car" is a Connect van @Jack Sparrow ?. For the cost of a few cans of Special Brew we get informed when the council is cutting down trees nearby. They chip the smaller branches and that just goes to waste I think. We MUST go and get it when they let us know as evidently it's illegal for them to leave anything close to the road being deemed a hazard I presume. If we didn't go and get the tree trunks (cut up enough to be reasonably easy to handle) they would end up in land fill which to me is a criminal waste. Maybe talk to your council's parks department, they might be helpful....or maybe not!
