    Hi there , thought I´d add to the splendid photos of your flowers. After a hot spell here, we´ve had a thunderstorm with lots of rain - I can almost hear the flowers drinking this morning!

    wow... thats a stunner. Almost gets me thinking into growing dahlias again..

    Wow! I definitely want to grow Dahlias next year. :gnthb:

    I took this photo of a flower in my garden this morning, I don't know what its called, just bought it when it was reduced to half price. It was a tuba, and I didn't really think it would look as good as it does. :luv:

    That's a lovely picture Will - I love your colour combination.

    The purple spike is Liatris spicata. As you said, it comes from a tuber. Its perennial and reasonably hardy, but my tubers rotted one winter from the wet, so I lift them now. Its easy from seed too.
