A few bits and pieces which are standing up to the fierce heat and no rain for about 10 weeks now! Thankfully my heavy mulching is doing it's stuff atm altho I can see if we don't get rain soon I'll have to start dragging the hose all over the place to get stuff watered..................not a job I enjoy! There's still not much happening in the way of flowering in my gardens, here's the two beds I dug out last autumn and this spring. Both beds seem to be devouring compost and it will take a while to get my sandy soil into shape. What little there is in the second bed at the moment I grew from seed, hopefully there will be mainly perennials in there by next summer. The roses were planted in November and I was worried they would clash but they don't look to bad. :)

The rose bed needs the edge sorted out again!

Just in case you think we only have white plants in our garden :heehee:

This Campanula Pritchards Blue and the day lily were given to us by GC member, graham the gardener :blue thumb:. The day lily (don't know the variety) is quite tasty. The edible petals of the day lilies have a different taste to different varieties.

Veronicastrum is an interesting plant as it grows about 7ft high, fairly wide, with a pretty pattern of growth to the leaves and unusual flowers.

We don't know the names of these two penstemons. If people that give us plants that we don't know the name, we usually name them after the person that gave them to us!

"Poppy" this is a original from the Queens garden 17th Century at Kew so does have a lot of history got it from my brother who worked there at the time.
and I have grown it for more than 30 years

*update* my brother worked in the early 70/80's at Kew:oops:
