its really short, but that may just be where I have planted it.

(Edit: H W Hyde site says that they should grow to 1M in first year, and 1.2M thereafter, so must be a problem my end then I reckon)

These I've shown before, but here are today's photos:

Great lilies Kristen and not a lily beetle nibble in sight I'm sick of squishing them this year :gaah:, thank god they don't bother the daylilies or I'd probably loose the will to live :hate-shocked:

Luckily not seen much of them this year, perhaps because of my vigilance in previous years (not many other gardens near me), or maybe just lucky this year ... :)

And my first ever daylily seedling to flower :dancy:, first time luck I think, its in its second year flowering and I love it my darkest daylily and it has 8 flower scapes!!!!! and is 4ft tall, huge flowers,a cross of 'Star of Fantasy' and 'Iktomi' , I'd love to one day be able to register one in my name but at £250 last time I checked it may be a while away :hate-shocked:, suppose I could still pick a name for me to call it,mmmm what do you think?

Send a photo to a Hemerocallis company? - they may pay you a royalty and do all the legal work etc. on your behalf.

Lovely to see the Pink Octopus flowering, maybe my bit will flower next year. What a cracking Day Lily Simbad, big congratulations.Think Iktomi is something to do with spiders?...Fantasy Spider maybe. The colour just reminds me of Ribena but maybe the makers of that might object to you using their trade name!

Glad you like it silu I have potted a bit up to in case yours didn't survive it seems to have got going :)
Well fancy me not knowing Iktomi is to do with spiders it is a spider daylily, I like that name 'Fantasy Spider' I've just checked the database and the names not taken either so hey thats what I'll call it from now on ;), at least its a name that you can connect to the cross unlike another of mine thats called 'Slipped my Disco' !!!!! :heehee:

That would be great Kristen mind you there are a few that look like this already, what I need is something reeeally special a double spider with teeth!!! lol not many of them around, mind you Wylie a member on here, might just beat me to it he's just done a cross of a double spider with one with teeth and waiting to see if it sets seed so way ahead of me, he has some fabulous seedlings :)
