There are a few other varieties and we hope to harvest the seeds and spread them around the bed.

We also have other self-seeded plants in that bed. Lots of Allium siculum and some evening primrose

This is part of the garden where we let it remain wild. It's where a lot of our multi-coloured cowslip, primroses and primulas make it look like a fairyland in spring. The insects enjoy the wildness and a number of different species can be seen roaming through it.

At this time of year we can also find some little treasures if we search hard enough.
        P1170480.JPG

We have many plants that the bees love and the Jerusalem sage is one of them. There are about six clumps of them like this

This Deutzia has grown pretty tall and seems to like it in our woodland area.
        P1170466.JPG

The Freemontedendron is about five years old and gets on very well with our 60 year old rambling rose.

This double Philadelphus has a wonderfully strong scent and spends a lot of time looking in my office window :) It also spends a lot of time hugging a large rose bush that protects my window.

I have developed a fondness for Persicaria Red Dragon this year too and was allowed to take some stems for rooting from the Hospice. All 7 potted up and will be grown with the Bowles Golden grass next year in the Communal garden.

We do like poppies, we just left them to self-seed themselves and see what happens. Here are some examples:
