Lobelia erinus (aka the trailing lobelia bedding plant), decided it's happier self seeding and growing out of the house wall.

I dug out my dying Sambucus 'Black Lace' last year after it was continually battered by wind. Below is one of the two cuttings I took, how well it will do in a pot I'm yet to find out.

Thanks Loli, they actually take very easily which surprised me. I don't know how the other one is, it now resides in southern England. :)

If the members of GC keep passing on plants to each other we'll all eventually have identical gardens.....well almost! :heehee:

I reckon so, I was going to ask for an ID but I can see further back in this thread a plant that is very very similar. Really nice plant I think.

Thanks nFrost. I don't know anything about them so I'll have to do some research for the future. :)

It's one of my favourite plants, Sheal, although it's short lived in my sandy garden and probably only lasts 2 or 3 seasons:dunno::coffee:

                        Hi Sheal,

If you don't like that one check out Sisyrinchium Brachypus.
It's a small rockery or edging plant and it's flowers are like little nuggets

It is actually a lot better in the flesh than in most photos. Although it is a self seeder it's not as rampant a self seeder as Verbascum.
