                  @Michael Hewett - I crop without shame! It saves storage space and at the end of the day we cannot defy the laws of physics - if something is there that we don't want there chop it off!

                    We got back from holiday and there had been not the slightest drop of rain during that hot period. The garden is suffering and I'm now giving them their drinks. :thumbsup:

                          Shiney, great plants.
                          Not saying your garden was not great when we came, but have you thought of opening it in mid summer?

                          Just a thought.:biggrin:

                            @pete

                            Thanks. :blue thumb:

                            We had it open again at the beginning of July but for one of Mrs Shiney's flower arranging clubs. It was their annual buffet and drinks party :Wino:. I think there were about forty of them :rolleyespink:

                            It would be nice to do it in midsummer as well but it's just too much work and organisation. We'd need a full time gardener and an event planner :doh:. It takes us months to get the May event organised and then we couldn't do it without all our friends that help.

                            We do have an open invitation to anyone who wants to come along at any time. They only need to contact us to see whether we're here. GC friends are always welcome and tea, or even lunch, is easy enough to sort out. Anyone that is passing is welcome to pop in as well. We do have the occasional coffee morning for charity when there are Mrs Shiney's crafts on sale as well. @Beckie76 has been to one of those. A couple of members have also been to one of Mrs Shiney's health seminars (includes hot lunch cooked by me :hate-shocked: :heehee:).

                            Between all that, our holidays, keeping the garden going and all the different clubs that we run or belong to we don't get much time - and everything takes longer nowadays :old:
