            It`s not necessarily a war you need to take part in quite a lot of the time. The more you spray poisons around the garden the more insects you will kill - but.....:th scifD36: ..you will be killing the goodies as well as the baddies, and I think that`s daft!
            I never use insecticide at all, and can put up with a few lacy leaves ... I have been heard though, late in the evening, with my stripey jumper and balaclava on, shouting "gotya you bar
            steward'' if I go on a slug hunt.

                      I dug out my clump of watsonia last winter as they were not doing too well, the place where they were growing was far too dry.
                      Trouble is they have not responded to potting up and appear to be going nowhere this year.

                      Neglect and warmth works for me Pete. Plus a mild climate. Had the white Borbonica (alba) here looking wonderful but neglected to take pictures. :)
                      They seem to take a couple of years.....3 or 4 if I recall correctly.....to flower

                            Mine had been there for more than 10yrs, but they got baked every summer, so flowering was poor.
