                  It's Veronicastrum. The centre flower of each stem grows with the wide, flattish look and the side flowers are narrow and pointed. It's a bee magnet.

                        I`m fascinated by fasciation, and it seems to be more usual in veronicastrums. Mine are behaving themselves so far. I believe this can be caused by insects?

                            Hi @Tetters Yes, it occurs on all our Veronicastrum - and every year. Virtually all the flowering stems have it and it seems to be more pronounced as it goes through the season. The RHS says it seems to occur more on Veronicastrum. We like it and the bees spend more time on the fasciated flowers than the others.
