Better than my monster. 15 years no flowers. I've been threatening to throw it down the shute but then it just sends out more leaves as if in protest.

Have you tried watering with tom food at every watering from early August onwards.
I'm guessing it is pot grown.
Nothing wrong with new leaves, as the flower spikes form in the leaf axials from a couple of years ago.
So in short, no new leaves, no repeat flowering.
Put it outside, that is if it is inside:biggrin:, for the summer, full sun unless it has been grown in the shade, in the shade I doubt it will ever flower.

                  Hi @pete ,

I always feed it tom food, usually a bit earlier though, say around end May beginning of June.
It is pot grown currently in a tub about 18" wide and deep. I keep him on a table in the window so it gets a lot of sun. It's got about 30 leaves and the tallest are about 4' high.

                  I can't put it outside cuz I can't carry it :) plus I live on the 9th floor !

I did wonder about taking it over my moms in a taxi and putting him outside and then putting it in the greenhouse for the Winter. Would it survive ? We usually only get 2 or 3 frosts a year and this Winter was the first snow for 8 years.

Sorry didn't realise you were in a flat.
I'd not risk it in a cold greenhouse, one really bad night and you have lost 15 yrs work.
If you could make that greenhouse, just frost free, it would work.

All I can say then is carry on, I do then wonder if maybe a cooler spell in winter might help, to be honest they are not really tropical, so tend to like seasons.

Now yoou've given me an idea :)

He's in my living room all year, I think perhaps I should move it into the bedroom over Winter as I have no heating in there and keep the window open so there's about a 1" gap for air.
That might just do it I reckon. I'd never thought of " Wintering " him before.
                      Ta :)

Yep its up and running @Logan
Its only a small pump (700lph) it covers most of the waterfall without making a gushing splash so its just about right...There is a dry pocket at the farthest side from the entry point, to which I am going to plant up with Aubretia or a small flowering Campanulla. This should spread nicely.
But first and foremost I need to have a proper switched electrical supply installed specifically for this pump as I only installed one for the main filter pump (larger) at the time which on hindsight I should have installed a double. Anyway thats where we are at just now..Thanks for asking Logan and I will address the situation this week when I'm off work...along with a multitude of other gardening jobs lol
