WHATS LOOKING GOOD IN JULY 2019

Well I grew them from seed also but it was probably mid 80s or so,so really can't remember when they first flowered.
Might have been about 5 years perhaps.
If you want fruit plant two as they need cross pollination.

I just went online to check how much it would cost to buy the phlox, and noticed that most vendors seem to have Norah Leigh as having pale pink flowers with central dark eye. So I think that one you had in the photo must be your Harlequin. I read that it is a bit more vigorous than Norah Leigh.

This is what I thought was Harlequin in another part of the garden. Just as vigorous I think.
I will check ID’s later ...you may be right
I have grown another variegated phlox, Goldmine I think. Bit brash I thought !?

 

Sempervivum update - Ok so I bought a few more..I'm up to 5 now with more to follow. The plan is to have around 20 selective cultivars. (I have made a specialised list)
The problem is I'm buying large plants, not singlets. but for every plant I buy, I can strip approx 8 plantlets from so I have more than I need personally. and I can see how one would be easily over-run with them, so when I get back from holiday I may mail a few out.
My list so far comprises of

I will attach pics of each var. shortly.
On the top of the stand, I'm going to approach the local fruit and veg man if he can get me a couple of shallow wooden fruit trays, to stand on end and maybe add a mid self. Over that, I would like to add a little rain canopy perhaps. I'll see what I can dream up lol
