Good evening @Upsydaisy my dear friend I must admit that I had never heard of it before they were in a packet of wildflower seeds I just scattered over a small border back in the Spring but I am really pleased with the seeds,I had to look them up and they said they are annuals, they are very pretty and colourful:smile:

We had a good downpour this afternoon & inspired by your pictures I went out onto the balcony to see if I could emulate you - no such luck! By the time I went out, about an hour after it had all finished, most of the raindrops, on any flowers, had evaporated! :cry3:

Your photos are very good! :dbgrtmb:

Though I haven't posted many photos lately, I've ben kept very busy, I've not got behind with taking photos of my flowers on the balcony it's just that I haven't had the time lately to rename them & put captions on the photos I've taken! I spent a long time yesterday doing precisely that & today I go & take 20 or 30 more! :rolleyespink:

The BOP isn't as good this year, it struggled with the temperatures last December and lost a few flower spikes.

Mine hasn't even begun to flower yet! I still consider it a "seedling" until then though it must be about 5 years old now!

As I haven't posted any pictures of the Petunias on the balcony for a few weeks here are a few - though they are from June! I don't seem to have any from July yet! :dunno::thud:

A strange deformed Strelitzia flower, the stem has gone round in a loop for some reason.

and a bee mopping up some of the large amount of nectar that runs out of the flowers, I often wonder why other insects or birds dont find it. DSC04218.JPG

I love the 'Oxalis Iron Cross' plants! I bought some years ago & they grew very well. But then they disappeared & for a couple of years I didn't have any so I bought some more bulbs last autumn & they are flowering now. Though personally I grow them more for their leaves than their flowers. The flower stems get very long & trail on the balcony floor where, if I'm not careful, I end up trading on them.
