    Lovely pics everyone

Rosa, your Cup & Saucer vines are growing a mile a minute, won't be long before the first blooms appear.

Shame about the Glads getting knocked down Bob, but they are still beautiful.

Pete, brilliant pink on those cactus!

    Thank you high kype.

I only knew the German name, Katzenpf¶tchen, little cat paws, so I googled and came up with this -

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antennaria_dioica

I think it must be of the same family although mine is white and much taller than this pink one (I wouldn't mind having that colour too). Two of the English names match the German one - Catsfoot and Pussytoes. How about that name!!!

Sis - pity the Cup & Saucers don't grow over here. Well, they would grow in the summer but not make it through the winter.

Elaine - I love that red poppy, the colour seemed to jump out of the screen, just the thing for a dull day.

High Kype - let us know what the salesclerk says when you ask for Pussytoes!!!

Well done everyone. There are some wonderful flowers there and you should all be proud of them.

I'm not going to name the plants that I am posting but if anyone wants to know what any are then I shall ask Mrs shiney :D

Lovely and colourful - and no sign of slug activity TG! I see that you have Inula too, but the leaves are smaller, so guess it is another kind. The yellow flowers with the butterfly. The one with the prickly balls ( [IMG] ) is interesting, are they really prickly? I note that you have the Cape Fuchsia too and what a lovely show of Mont Br......?? Gorgeous garden all round! Thanks for sharing.

    Thanks Kedi

The prickly one isn't really prickly at this stage. The flowers become burrs and they are only half an inch across. The plant is very rampant but looks good. The monbretia is now called crocosmia (they keep messing with the names) and the variety is Lucifer which reaches as high as 6ft in our garden. Our Inula is hookeri.

When you say 'Cape Fuschia' are you referring to the sixth picture that has the alliums in it? If you are then they are penstemons.

Talking of SLUGS  This photo was taken only 10 minutes after Mrs shiney had collected 2 lb of slugs from this part of the lawn!!!
