    Apples doing well, but at the moment its the starlings that are getting the benefit.
    Every afternoon they mass in the trees, and wait to all fly off together, but before that they all have a peck at my apples.

    Nice crop there Pete ;) I haven't seen a Starling here for several years!

    Thanks roders. I Found the Q-Mothers rose when I grubbed out the Cranesbill! :D

    We have starlings.......... everywhere.
    They mass on the rooves and the trees, its like Hitchcocks "The Birds" every afternoon, the noise is deafening.
    Then suddenly, they all fly off as if a signal has been given. [​IMG]

    Hey Pete, I'd be inclined to drape some netting over those apples, sod feeding Starlings, they scavenge enough this time of year without letting them at the good stuff.

    The trees are about 15ft high mike and at least as wide

    thanks they are both in high kypes garden
    they were spending the weekend with us and i took them from her camera, the red one is poppy Venus she grew from seed,just lovely aren't they

    Kathy - I love poppies and this red one is a real eye-catcher. I've never had any real luck with poppies, mores the pity. But then I am lucky with other plants, so I guess it evens out, doesn't it?

    hi kedi-gato glade you like the poppies got seeds from bq 85 pence not bad they are all red but i have got one white and pink came out of same pack
