Thanks Owl and Walnut. From the front, there is Campanula poscharskyana - blue, Geranium 'Patricia' - pink, Campanula perscifolia - white - just starting, Centranthus rubra - red valerian, Hesperis purple, and pink Poppies. At the back is Anchusa, which is a wonderful clear dark blue, though it doesn't photograph well, and a Geranium psilostemon.

Peter your red valerian is lovely :) I have noticed that at the end of our road a lot of people seem to have this in their gardens as it looks stunning!! Was only looking it up yesterday to see what it was but that has confirmed I was looking at the right ID :)

It seems to have self seeded all the way up the road .... but not down the road to me :(

PeterS, the garden is even more beautiful than ever .... I just love that 'flop about' feel of it ... :hehe:
Eeek, PeterS, must say I don't like the looks of that Salvia .... :flag: By the way, my Salvia seedlings have just about all disappeared with our onslaught of 34c .. sorry ...

You ARE young cumberland .... :D

Thanks Vicky - sorry about your Salvias seeds - its difficult to appreciate gardening in a quite different climate.

Strongy, mine is still small - about 6 inches across. I think they get to about 24 or 30 inches across. They are one of several Salvias that make a low rosette, from which flower stalks rise in this case reaching about 36 inches. I think the main interest is the foliage which is beautifully soft.

Ooooh Linda, she must be over the moon with those, I bet she can't stop sniffing them either. "Iced Summer" is what they conjure up to me.

I reckon you could do something special with those pics for her.

          Simply stunning.
