Loving all the pictures :hapydancsmil: I need a bigger garden...... I wonder if the neighbours would notice if I took down the fence and just gradually moved over. Vee

Same here Kristen but we are on top of a hill tryed an acer once and it just shrivelled and died, the only one that does well is Drumondii only young yet but growing, I've settled for Sambucus now, my favourite being 'Black Lace', not quite the same but next best thing :)

When I have a mo,. I'll start a new topic to try to get consensus on which varieties have worked well ... if I plant some "good do'ers" I think I'll b in with more of a chance. whis4ey has some smashing ones, and loads of good info on his site which I've been cogitating :)

That's a cracking idea, GA, to hang the baskets from the tree, perfect presentation and something to catch the eyes of visitors and make them go :wow:

                              Keith,
I have a pale mauve one and a white on in the garden. They like it on the dry side and send runners that seem to root quite readily - especially if pegged down. A good "hang down over a rockery" type that will bulk up in a couple of years if happy.
I will take a couple of piccies in the morning but mine are only just beginning to flower. Aren't they lovely,
                              Jenny
