It's a Quamash [Camassia ] , loli, which is a bulb and will get to about 3 feet tall. It likes fairly moist soil which is why it is in the Bog Garden. I planted it around '94 and it's still going strong.:snork:

Thanks! I have just the spot for it. Would you call it hardy?

No wonder I was struggling to recall it - mine haven't bloomed since the house move!

I have one in our garden. Yes I'd say it is hardy since it survived a few cold winters without any harm. No maintenance needed. Deadheading may prolong its flowering time.

I've seen camassia in blue colour, but yours is so much more prettier :dbgrtmb: . Do they set seeds? Could I beg for some seeds? :love30:
I also like your Solomon's seal (or was it a false one?), possible seeds there? ;)

Well HsuH, I'll check the Camasia for seeds when it's ready and you're more than welcome to some seeds if it does set seed. I'll let you know asap.

I'm glad to say that the Solomon's Seal does appear to be in growing demand, I've already sent some to other members and when I took some pots of it to Shiney's Open ,and told them I was bringing them, the Solomon's Seal were sold before I'd even brought them!!! It's not often seen in gardens and I think I'm the only one in the local area who grows it. I don't understand why as it is a cracking plant with gracefully arcing stems with white pearls of flowers hanging down. It's very hardy and easy to propagate and keep under control, it's only enemy is the Sawfly Caterpillar and I haven't seen any of those in several years although I keep a watch for them. It spreads, as does the False Solomon's which has also been sent to other members of GC, by rhizomes which lie just under the surface of the soil and are easy to dig up if you want both you are welcome to them and I will send you some.

Not good piccies I'm afraid but it's cold and windy out there:

I have had to pull up loads just to get rid of the ground elder
