10 minutes with a spade I reckon, plus the round trip journey time to Shiney's :)

Might be worth looking at wholesale prices?

Trecanna Nursery (in Cornwall) do 60 bulbs for £22

actually now that I Google there are plenty of outlets:

    Bloms Bulbs 50 for £19.25
    Fentogollan 100 Bulb Pack £24.50
    Direct Bulbs 50 for £20.00 (J Parker's wholesale division)

or seed? £2.80/ gram (1 gram = 80 seeds) from PWS

I don't have any Nectaroscordum :heehee: but I have loads of Allium siculum :lunapic 130165696578242 5:.

They spread easily from seed - too easily, as they have spread all over the garden. With a bit of help they should be like that in two or three years. I'd be happy to send you loads of seeds if you want to wait until they set (Mrs Shiney may even have some from last year - she's in charge of propagation :) ).

I've a feeling that she may want to dig a load up later in the year as they seem to becoming rather rampant. If so, we can send them to you. I'll chat to her later.

If you have the seed then sow them in trays or pots in the greenhouse and plant them out in the spring.

I used to have Iochroma australis - it now turns out that I have Eriolarnyx australe!

Let me know - I'm keen to bulk these up and collect some seed, but have a sparse spot where these are the only things that seem to have thrived!

Yes, I order seeds most years from the RHS members seed distribution scheme and like to try different things (with varying rates of success ;) ). They are a ground covering plant which softens the edge of the flower border quite nicely without being too invasive.

She doesn't think she has any seed left (but she'll check) and says that she can dig up loads of bulbs for you. We can send the bulbs and the seed when they are ready :dbgrtmb:

Another amble around the garden with the camera, a couple of stops with a mug of tea, and I came back with these pics:snork:

One of the many Aquilegias in the borders. I'm not a fan of pink flowers but I do like this.
