Thanks Armandii- at least the snails don't get to the hostas in the pots.

I've been out with the torch nearly every night for 2 weeks - haven't found one. Think they wait for the bedroom light to go on - I'll have to fool them and come down again or :sofa:

Most likely ... but she's dead canny, our GA ... in the morning she'd wake you and put the pair of you on slug patrol to earn your 'keep' :ccheers:

See? Told you beer traps work (one way or another :heehee: )

I shall hunt down some Aquilegia seeds

What do I do, just scatter them in the borders?

I wrap copper tape around any of my pots that have something in them that might be a potential lunch for Mr Snail :snork: and it works a treat

I also have two other hostas in the ground, one has been munched on quite badly  but the other hasn't been touched :)

Yes, they grow very easily. :dbgrtmb:

The only problem with sprinkling seed in the borders is that there is a danger of you weeding the seedlings out by mistake. So, if that's a possibility, just put them in pots to start them off.

Send me a PM with your address and I'll have a hunt around for some seeds. :)

Certainly my gaden is a bit like buses, nothing and then loads altogether this season.Couldn't resist a photo of 1 of my big red Poppies too Lolimac. So often they are ruined by wind/rain, both! but not this year. Very brief show but still lovely.

Aaaaw thanks GA  I'll remember to collect some for the autumn seed parcel, especially from the lovely frilly one, I scattered some seed from it last year and quite a few are starting to flower and look just like their Mum.
