Found about a dozen of the Bee Orchids growing in the car park grounds where I work. Spent a bit of time on the phone contacting various people to ensure that they dont get mown.

It isn't a Fuchsia but a Phygelius capensis. The confusion arises because it has the common name of Cape Fuchsia.

Oh - thanks for that, @longk . With a memory like mine, I can see how I could get confused!

I'm going to have to brag about my hostas this year:
I moved the hostas and pieris to the front garden in this new arrangement earlier this year, where they have gone berserk. It is the first year my hostas haven't been decimated by slugs, and I can't really explain this. For whatever reason, the slugs can't be bothered with them in the front garden. (Or maybe I de-slugged at the right time, and slugs are only interested in new shoots? No idea). The pieris was also unhappy in the back garden, but is much, much happier now. They may crowd out the grasses and fern I've also got in that arrangement, but if that happens I'll live with it. Here's how they looked when I first re-potted them: http://ro-ro-to-fro.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/recycling-recycling-box-hanging-baskets.html

Loving this combination of petunias (the black ones were rescued cheap from Home Bargains and added later):

Giant alliums this year (first for me). Just going passed their best, now.

Ceanothus also loves its new home in the front garden. This time last year, it was only about 10cm.

Yes, could also be the hessian. Whatever the reason, there isn't a single slug bite on them this year. I almost gave up on hostas due to the slug/snail problem!
