They all get a bit of a trim during the year if there's a few small new branches that are not "conforming." Some will grow sticking up and no amount of bending will train them, as do the skirts get trimmed if they aren't growing evenly. I use garden shears! But any serious pruning gets done at the end of the year when they are dormant.

Another extremely bee friendly plant is Jerusalem sage. We have five clumps of them, each at least 5ft diameter (one about 10ft diameter), and by mid June you can hear the buzzing all over the garden.
        P1390315.JPG

The other variety is also bee friendly, but not as much
        P1390298.JPG

We have dozens of Lychnis, just starting to flower, in the veg plot and they attract pollinators to the beans

Our first lily to bloom although it's in deepest shade

We think this is Portuguese laurel, but not quite sure. 12ft high and 8ft wide and coming into flower.

                      Hi @shiney ,
The pic you've labelled as your first Lily is a Hemerocallis . Although commonly called a " Day Lily " it's not actually a Lily but part of the Asphodel family.

Hi @Tetters what is the white flower behind the geum in your last but 1 picture? It's lovely!
Georgeous callistemon @strongylodon - I haven't tried growing them again since I lost all mine in the hard winter a few years ago.
                        Here's what's growing with me:
Lilium pumilum, seed ex Russia apparently (according to AGS), first flowering 2 years from sowing.
                        LiliumPumilumExRussiaSm.jpg
A bit squinny on a floppy stem, and looks rather different to my bought bulbs of L pumilum
                        Bought version: LiliumPumilumDigitalisSm.JPG

                        Lilium bulbiferum:
                        LiliumBulbiferumSm.jpg

Acacia retinodes (I think), has got its feet well into the soil since I chucked it out of the greenhouse last year - flowering well. AcaciaRetinodesSm.jpg
