The only reason that I'm not glad to be old in this world is because of climate change.
I'd love to see what would be possible to grow in the UK in 50yrs time.
Other than that, I think I will be best out of it.

There would be a lot more land to farm here if global warming were really to happen. More land, longer growing season would be fantastic.

 

I think the med diet is a bit overdone.
Its based on the fact that a 50yr old looks 70 and lies about their age.

 

But a lot less habitat for wildlife, we just want it all our own way.

 

Oops, should have made that clearer. We have loads of muskeg up north that is nothing but ice in the winter and in spring turns into marsh. The First Nation fly in in the summer but can drive in over the ice in the winter. Nothing lives on it in the winter. And even if it did warm up, there would be massive national parks set aside for the wildlife as we have done with Algonquin Park- just under 3,000 square miles or approximately double the size of Kent.

And we have several parks like that across the country plus at least 20 per province about 1/2 down to 1/4 that size. In these parks there is no hunting, period. No fishing other than leisure with a small limit. And I would hope that this would continue. Given the fact people are wising up I've got my fingers crossed that wise heads will prevail.

I remember years ago flying over there a few times, nothing but lakes and deserted country for a few hours, it does have a lot of uninhabited territory.
But I'm sure wildlife must be there even in winter, on the tundra.

 

Yup. Lots of space but a small suburban lot is about the same price as over there, maybe even more. Keeps us from spreading out too much maybe. You get out on the prairies and if your dog decides to run away, you can watch him do it for a couple of days

The clouds cleared out and things are looking a little forlorn but the sun will perk them up after having that long drink. This shows the section of lawn that had all of tne buckthorn seedlings and I've been busy pulling them. I got some seed down before it rained and hope by the end of the summer it will be thick with grass only. The primroses just behind the netting were all nibbled down by bunnies hence the netting I put up yesterday.

 

Sitting out enjoying a coffee, everyday brings out fresh new blooms....this is my favourite time of year! You can't help but feel optimism and happiness bubbling up.
