My 3 blackcurrant bushes are laden this year.
I've got 2.3Kg from about half of one bush so far - took well over an hour in baking sun!
Pleased it's cooler today


A gift - self sown feverfew and thalictrum.
They're blocking the path to my compost bins, but I'll take the long route for now and enjoy my gifts from nature

 

My Platycodon is blooming in the same pot on a pedestal since 2008 ..




I planted some Pink and White seeds around the pot last year but guess they did not germinate.

I let this wildflower/weed 'Fox and Cubs' have the run of the place. I love it's orange flowers. I picked it up from a nursery in Rhayader in 2001.

 

Some stayed as Dicentra and some that ended up in Dactylicapnos such as Dicentra scandens, a lovely climber that has yellow flowers in summer, which is now Dactylicapnos scandens.

Day Lily's are just getting going here

 

Melaleuca rigidus/linearis, the most common Bottlebrush and the last of my 12 to flower.


Salvia Icing Sugar always has a white sport.


Last year's Nemesias, took a couple of nights of -6 and survived.


Calla Picasso, first one to flower.


Pollen free lily.


Dwarf water lily in the barrel.

 

I watered the newly planted plants and shrubs. Before, I had watched Allan Titchmarsh How to prune Deutzia on gardenersworld, and followed his advise by cutting off two branches which had flowered and were old. I learned that Deutzia gets flowers on new grow if like my ones are Spring flower shrubs. I still remember Dove saying that I shouldn't cut anything. Now I understand why she said it. I don't have a summer/autumn flowering Deutzia.
