Thanks Kathy - thought it was different to the more usual ones. Will keep eyes peeled for bulbs in the autumn.

Shiney - wonderful blooms! The one that really caught my eye is the creamy, greeny pink clematis - one to die for! Am looking forward to finding out it's name - do the petals stay like they are in your pic, or do they open out more? The wee pink pea type flower intrigues me too!

    Gorgeous pics everyone!

Here are some of the plants that are flowering in my Ayrshire garden. We are almost two weeks behind the gardens south of the border. G.man

This is a patio clematis called Ice Blue. It has papery flowers that are pure white with a blue tinge in the centre.

Walnut, I've now edited in the names of the plants - where we can remember them :thumb:

Jarbax, I think that the one that you thought was the creamy, greeny pink clematis is the Cephalaria. I shall put up some other shots of it :)

rosietu - that poppy's even better than the first! The size is just right! :)
This was the 'clematis' I was meaning Shiney! It is from your tree peony root stock?!? What are the flowers like on the rest of the plant? I LOVE it!

Also loving yourCephalaria, have seen them in a couple of gardens, and been well impressed! I love things with that thistle like bud and scabiosa type flower heads, knapweeds, knautia and things. YUM! If the cephalaria grew in white or magenta, I'd have it now!!!

Another on my favorites list is lychnis coronaria, though mine are not flowering yet. There was one in my old garden (sheltered spot) which flowered well into winter, and positively GLOwed though the weather was awful! One I'll never be without!

    JarBax,
If you look at my Cephalaria in full bloom at the bottom of the previous page you will see that it is cream and I think that is the closest it gets to white.

Here are a couple of photos taken of the tree peony last month

I've never seen peonies growing a different flower from the root stock but that is what has happened unless the other peony is growing under the tree peony's roots.
