Pete the biggest problem with the Sanguinea and the arboreas they are not keen on full summer sun if they are in bud at this time they will lose all their buds, they are however a bit more tolerant of the cold if you can manage a cool greenhouse when the frosts start in autumn you will be rewarded with lots of blooms,I grow mine in the shade of the house and the shade of a 6ft fence, this years from seed are 3ft tall and very strong hoping for good results.
The crossing of B.Sanguinea x B.Arborea give you B.Flava hybrids these do hold their flowers much better and the colours are more varied, hopefully I will go down this path so the pollinating brush will be out later this year. [IMG]

Bud drop is not my problem walnut, its the forming of buds in the first place.
Usually if the buds form I can get them to flower, the plant in the picture has just been moved under a tree in order to keep it out of full sun. It repayed me by losing lots of leaf, I'm not expecting anymore flowers now till autumn.

When the first flower opened on this adenium obesum, I thought that they would only last a day or two at the most.
The first one has now been out over a week.

Callistemon Sieberi, a small greenish yellow brush with small needle like leaves.

This one is flowering for the first time and not fully open yet (three years from seed) but I was not told of the cultivar name. It is one of the few salmon/pink ones.

Gogs, beautiful clematis. Unfortunately, we have never had any luck with the double/filled ones.

Strongy, that Copper Beauty is really a beauty. Do you have to overwinter it indoors?

Thanks Strongy, I guess it's not even worth trying it here then as we have enough to lug into the Wintergarten during the cold period.

I would imagine you have more frosts there than here so it would suffer outside.

Yes. We have a south-facing wall but it still does get frost. Sis sent me Sesbania punicea seeds and I had thought to put it there. That is if I get the seeds to grow, and I will keep it in the Wintergarten the first winter, perhaps even the second, but then it must move outside.

Sorry to use this thread but could you please tell me when to plant the Lupin seeds Sis sent me too. This year or next spring? Thanks!
