Not 100% sure what this lovely hairy-leaved flower is, but it has grown to about 4feet high in amongst the clematis, jasmine and honeysuckle.

This has to be just about my alltime favorite flower - phuopsis stylosa. I brought a cutting back from a wonderful short break in Glastonbury where I was mesmerised by the foxy scent in the air during an incredibly heavy shower of rain - drenched, but happy, I tracked it down to this plant. Mm-mmm!

Hadn't appreciated quite how 'pink' my garden is at this time of year!

Here's my cirsium rivulare, having been divided last year, they're not quite so tall this summer:

    All very nice JarBax.

I just googled your favourite, the Phuopsis stylosa, and found some interesting facts. It is a good ground covering plant,is completely frost-hardy and doesn't grow over 30cm, so I'm thinking it would make a nice addition to our rockery when we get around to redoing it.

I couldn't recommend it more highly Kedi Gato! Let me know if you have difficulty finding it - I'll post you a cutting (what are the laws about posting plants abroad?)

View of the back "garden" rose jungle from the back door, about 8 varieties visible, there are a further 4 out of sight on the right.

Also you can see pelargoniums, lavender, geraniums, some summer bedding in the pots and containers.

Lovely hot colours, bobj. My Red Hot Pokers are long finished.

However, my first Platycodon opened today ...

It's common name is the Balloon Flower, bobj. It's my third year with it. They die back to nothing and then spring up in Spring. [IMG]

If anyone has any Callistemon 'Mauve Mist' seedlings or young plants, this what they should look like in 5/6 years!

Bob, it looks like it needs a bigger pot unless you prune it severely. I have learned the hard way that to prune after flowering, as recommended, often results in the plant rebelling and not flowering the following year, this happened to my other Mauve Mist and Salignus which is yellow and about 7ft high and would have been spectacular this year but all I have is leaf growth. It might be worth it anyway as it has grown quite tall and ungainly.
It looks like Citrinus Splendens or a newer cultivar Laevis.
If you want any Mauve Mist seed I have 1000's [IMG]
