      They really are nice Silu!
Do they produce seed reliably? By the sounds of it it is the quickest way to increase your stock.

Hey, what is that yellow daisy looking plant with the heart shaped leaves? I've been getting rid of them thinking they're weeds, they're all over my garden!

Probably Celandine Jack. I see it as a weed, others don't. Once you've got it-it's difficult to get rid of!

Yes they produce seed reliably. From memory I think the large seed pods split open around September time. I have never actually tried sowing them myself as now I know what to look for I lift the tiny seedlings which sometimes appear close to the "parents". Certainly the seed isn't propelled any distance. I now have seedlings in pots from the last 4/5 years but you have to be patient for them to get to flowering size. I have more seedlings appeared (about 15) so they will be lifted and potted on. I am reticent to offer you seed as the last time I gaily offered seed on GC (Meconopsis) I hardly had any:doh:, last season very dry the reason? . I felt awful having to message some people to say no go. I'll keep an eye on the seed heads come the Autumn and if you want some let me know.

I'm really not after seed as I have too many (seeds) at the moment!

These were taken about a week ago, but I haven't had chance to upload them.

My peach blossom now fully in flower (and a few bees and butterflies have even been sighted on it!)

I also have a pretty ornamental cherry coming into flower - great minds think alike! ;-)

And this is my acer! (Not sure which variety). We have one very happy 30-year-old acer in the garden, so last year took the plunge and bought four more young plants. Two thrived, but two were unhappy. This one was by far the weakest, and I wasn't sure it would come back this year. It's been in the greenhouse for a bit of extra help, however I've been taking it out by day, and leaving the door open at night for the past few weeks, so it doesn't feel the 'shock' of the spring climate. The others are catching it up now, and it is thriving, so I think the head-start has done it good.

Just a quick note, might be of interest for you.. Wilko does their bulbs, just incase you want to grow them faster. Never tried them so cant comment, but i generally prefer bulbs over starting from seed..

Thanks Simbad, fortunately we haven't had any really cold weather which can make the buds drop off, particularly as they started forming last August.

                          That's a shame.
I quite fancy one of them - are they usually slow growing?
