These beauiful borders in a new customer's garden...

Underneath the Grape hyacinths are a complete baricade of Lesser cellandine, forget-me-nots, springy turf moss, Aquilegias, Liverwort and by far the worst.... Creeping/Lesser cinquefoil.

I spent most of today sobbing at the thought of clearing this mess.... weedkiller free as she is worried it will harm her dogs. Anybody got the Samritans hotline number :frown::frown::frown:

The front garden is picking up well, now that we're getting the sunny days.

This Clematis Armandii "Apple Blossom" is in our new bed and is the first time it has flowered :blue thumb:

@Ian Taylor We planted it just under two years ago. :dbgrtmb: This month two years ago there were 22 x forty year old Leylandii there. We had the stumps ground out and filled the bed with home made compost and horse manure.

                    P1220891.JPG

Now it's coming along very well. The plants in the foreground aren't dead but are getting ready to burst into leaf and bloom.
                    P1320990.JPG

And this was just under five months after first planting the bed out.

It shows you what good preparation of the ground can do for the plants - bearing in mind that the soil had been completely depleted by the conifers.

Looks fantastic, I have found that Clematis 'Apple Blossom' does take time to get establish, but worth the wait.
