Chaenomeles has begun to flower too

Spring has definitely sprung for me when I see this one in flower; I love it!

First time I've grown hyacinths as outdoor plants; very pleased with them so far, the colour is a deeper purple than the photo looks, and the scent hits you every time you walk out the back door.

Nice 2nd bassoon. I think hyacinths are very under valued and under planted. Today, the scent from them was fantastic. Not much than can beat the scent of hyacinths at this time of year:)

Thank you my friend, anything between 15-20 years, I believe it was here when we moved in :) it gets hacked back after flowering believe it or not. So much growth in a season!

                            Wow! That is some age!
I would never have guessed - it looks so established. Must be the "trick" with it
It certainly is remarkable. It is clearly very happy with the attention you give it and the reward speaks for itself. Bravo! :love30:

Hi @2nd_bassoon  Your hyacinths are BEEutiful :wub2:...just wish we had smellavision
I've never grown them outdoors either...was always anxious it was too wet here...did you plant them in your pot and just leave them to cope with the elements or keep them undercover till recent, would love to know as did your area suffer from the recent atrocious weather or are you more sheltered where you live, as it would be lovely for me to grow them outdoors as they are such good early nectar for the pollinators :dbgrtmb:
