and one of our wild areas is beginning to look Spring like (that will eventually become solid with colour). This patch is in advance of the others.

I keep picking this stuff but it doesn't seem to discourage it from growing :heehee:

@Verdun. Thanks for your comments re: geum. Hopefully it will pick up when it's ready. That has always been the weaker half. Something has been nibbling on it though. A lot of my plants show signs of nibbling. None of my primroses/primulas lasted very long.

As my job involves driving around the countryside I get to see a lot of different gardens and public areas. A lot of them seem to very similar at the moment. Daffodils are of course everywhere. There is a healthy mixture of yellow and white ones, especially along the verges and around seating areas etc. I see a fair few clumps of mascari. I have to say that I dont really get much from them. They look better in photos than they do in reality. I guess they need to be blended in with other colours to really have an effect. A lot of doctors surgery entrances are adorned with bergenia. They have all seemed to flourish in the last week or so. I have one here that flowers on and off all year round. I should take a photo of it at some point. The other thing I notice I'm guessing is aubrieta (or something similar). It all looks very pretty and spring like.

                              G.

Yep, spring down here is in full swing too.:) Best season of the year I think :) Colour everywhere from flowers, new shoots, etc. Everything fresh and bright. :) Everything growing so fast:)
Mascari is not a favourite of mine either....principally because they are so invasive and I remove as many as I can here
Just as Monty annoyed folks when he said he did not like begonias too much, I feel much the same about crocus. They are colourful, but only for the briefest time; thereafter they are weedy affairs. :noidea:
