It's Pulmonaria (Lungwort) @nFrost. Great for any dry shady area, and it gives a lovely splash of colour in early spring. :dbgrtmb:

Same here. I've had this problem for a while. Some pics I can see and some I can't. Also some GC members are having problems posting photos. That's been happening for a while too.

@nFrost Pulmonaria is one of my favourite plants. It's tough as old boots and needs virtually no looking after, flowers from February (this year it was January) to May and the bees love it. It's good ground cover plant and only grows a few inches high. We've been here 42 years and they were here before us - so I treat them with great respect. :love30: :)

There are some lovely varieties of Pulmonaria, Sissinghurst White is nice and Ensign Blue too. Many Pulmonarias have interesting spotty or flecked silver foliage too. My Pulmonaria Rubra is the 1st of all my herbaceous to flower. It's been flowering now for about 6 weeks and I live in the hills in Scotland so would imagine it would flower in the South about January! It flowers everywhere I have planted it including in deep shade. Doesn't like it too dry tho so it gets mulched.

i grow plants for many reasons: to please my, soul, to challenge the elements or to challenge my patience, for novelty, or for nostalgia, but mostly for the joy in seeing them grow

                  Hi Victor,

                  :sign0016:

                  Welcome to Gardeners Corner :)

What do you mean by " without the filter " ? Who do you think is doctoring their photos ? I'm not, all my photos are taken on my phone and then uploaded straight onto here.

Just to show Pulmonaria Rubra will grow in deep shade. you can see the tree trunk just behind the plant. The Blue Pulmonaria is Ensign Blue. Only showing the Tulips as they are called The 1st (aptly named) and this is their 2nd year so have done well and all are flowering again unlike so many Tulips that I've planted in the past...get 1 year and then no flowers the next.

                      Hi Silu,
The "Ensign Blue " is stunning, but I still think I prefer the old fashioned ones where you get blue and pink on the same plant. We used to know them as " Jerusalem Cowslips ".
