Hi Charlie, I have the Yellow Celandine and the Black Celandine [Brazen Hussy] in my pond bog garden and also underneath my Acer Brilliantissimum. The yellow form seeds and spreads quite fast if you let it, while the black form is nowhere near as prolific. I don't treat it as a weed as it gives a lot of colour, so I just keep it under control by taking it out where it shouldn't be.:dunno::coffee::snork:

Yes Charlie, to me it's a weed and very difficult to get rid of, I have it growing in my lawn.

I think the main reason for my dislike is that the leaves remind me of bindweed!

That's lovely Strongy. :dbgrtmb: How well do you find Rhodo's and Azalea's do in sandy soil, do you have to give them any particular food etc.?

Sheal, they do very well around here as it is sandy and acidic, I haven't added much apart from planting them with ericaceous compost. As you can see the soil is a light grey when dry which shows how poor it is.

That's what mine is like Strongy, being coastal. I have one Azalea that is planted in a small area where lawn mowing's were dumped by the previous owner, I dug all that into the soil which is probably why it does quite well, but I'm wary of planting others elsewhere in the garden.
