Tulipa pulchella caerulea. An early flowering slightly different Tulip. One of my favourites though.

Ipheon "Rolf Fiedler" has continued to bloom since being turfed out of the greenhouse a month or so ago.............

I must say a huge thank you to @silu for sending me the tubers last summer. They are bursting through all over the garden now :hapydancsmil:

Nice of you to remember longk. Mine too are flowering all over the place. You'd think me being up in Scotland that they'd be later but no. Yes do love the foliage. Only snag is that they don't last long but fill a gap here anyway between Snowdrops which have more or less finished and the bulk of the Daffodils I have. Your gorgeous Iris is in a big pot (wow has it increased) and has wintered in my unheated greenhouse along with the Toad Lily. Both are looking very healthy. I am going to try planting part of each in the garden once the risk of frost has gone and hope they can cope with our winters. The remainder I will keep in pots as "insurance". I have 2 other variagated Iris which do stuggle a bit so I'll have to careful where I plant your beauty.

I do try to remember! That said I appear to have mislaid a pot of Calla Lilies!

The Iris is bombproof. Ultimately the Toadies are too but I always keep a back-up of each until they're established.

I think these are Scilla? Been in this large pot with one of my roses for a few years now. I love the way they break through the soil each spring. (Potting compost has been topped off with mole-hill spoils)

                  image.jpg
Primula vulgaris - you just can't beat it!

                  image.jpg
Anemone blanda splendens? Double checked on the plant label, and it was sold to me as Anemone blanda White Splendour.
Poor things keep being turfed out of the soil by the activities of one of my resident moles

                  image.jpg
The centre of the herb garden (or eye bed, as we sometimes refer to it). The yellow crocuses have just gone over, but the hyacinths are opening out, and the tulip leaves are now in full growth.

                  image.jpg
And like many others, I love tete-a-tete. First indoors, in their little pots, and then planted out, where they flower year after year...

They're close relatives - Chionodoxa. Common name is Glory Of The Snow.

I'm pretty sure these are Wood Anemone. I have a fair few and think they are lovely. Totally undemanding and very pretty. I don't seem to have much luck with Anemone Blanda for some unknown reason?

A somewhat crunchy walk around the garden early this morning. We had a heavy hail shower yesterday evening, then the hail froze overnight and there was still plenty of it lying around first thing.

Gawd I thought we had it quite bad/cold last night but not as bad as it looks with you Trunky, such a dangerous time for plants, 1 minute it's really hot and sunny the next Baltic. Living up here in Scotland I try to avoid things which come into growth/flower too early but of course I'm far too tempted by some of the nicest Rhododendrons which annoyingly flower any time soon to always be strict with myself!
