      They're quite effective and you just stick them in the ground by the plant. Birds and squirrels don't run off with them :heehee:

      I've also seen some slate ones that have a small hole drilled through a corner so they can be hung on shrubs and trees with some wire. :blue thumb:

              Still waiting for the Daffs - but Clematus Armandii has decided to flower:

              Unfortunately Im going to have to cut it back in a month or two as the ceanothus its been climbing up has given up in the wet this year. Cant say I blame it !

                One of my ceanothus has just suddenly died too Nick it was a lovely big specimen :cry3: , oh well suppose it'll be fun deciding what to plant to fill the gap :dancy:

                Ceanothus do seem to have a habit of doing that. I wonder if they're naturally short lived?

                They are notoriously temperamental and most professionals say that you shouldn't expect them to live more than ten years. Some last a lot less and others seem to keep going for ever.

                      Yep Jenny :dbgrtmb: ornamental rhubarb Rheum Tanguticum, looks like they're going to be good this year, grown from seed around 8 years ago and this is the biggest they've been :dancy:
