My phone and my laptop have made up after their argument earlier this month, so can finally share photos agan...

The clematis and the rose below have both flowered in the last 48 hours. It's my first ever self-planted clematis, while the rose was a mystery left over from the original garden however many years ago. It was pruned very harshly before we moved in 14 months ago and didn't flower at all last year so I wasn't sure what to expect. The other plants from then (a couple of other roses and a waterlily) are all various shades of pink; the softly scented yellow has been a very pleasent surprise!

Yes thanks, there's not a lot bees around. Got a lot of plants to attract them.

Our azaleas and rhodos are at their best now. Still a couple to flower here. It's all downhill from them from now on.
They form a canopy with a lot of empty space underneath. We have a bird feeder under there which I top up daily. Only the dunnocks, great and blue tits and the blackbirds can access it. The huge wood pigeons can't get at anything. But still make a lot of mess on the patio.

                      P1010567.JPG

The big tortoise shell azalea is yet to flower, it's always the last.
So we'll be back to "green," except for the roses in pots and the several clematis until it's time for the giant lilies and the few fuchsias.

The 1st of my many Meconopsis is out today and my favourite Azalea is looking at it's best. Pity you can't capture perfume as well as images as the late flowering Pheasant Eyes and Azalea Luteum are all giving off the most wonderful scent.

That Viburnum Maresii is a stunner! I often think it`s a shrub that needs to stand all on its own in the centre of a posh lawn.... :thinking:now where shall I find the space....
