I'm hoping that our grape vines put on some good growth this year. Planted in the middle of last years scorcher and slowly coming back to life

We normally do well with our vines, a white and black one, but for some strange reason they didn't like the heat of last year and put on a poor show. Weird!

Ooh, a pleasure to look at first thing, longk. My Scilla peruviana has not bloomed yet because it is in the shade under a Jacaranda. I love the mixed Lewisia, must see about getting some.

We're starting to see some roses, but they are taking their time.

Two against the tall fence separated from the side of the house by our drive. They don't get much sun here. These are those which are a "bit out of favour" so don't have the luxury of living in a ceramic pot.

The first to flower of the ten on our new paved area which used to be our koi pool.

These two rhodos look similar but with the one on the left, the base colour is cream, the other white.

                          P1020836.JPG

We've had three of these clematis for about four years now, they always do themselves proud, though this side of the fence only sees the sun in the late afternoon.

This sambucus gets a good prune each year and always produces lots of flowers.

We've had it several years, it's susceptible to black fly, in a past year it went completely limp getting caked with them. So much so I had to spray it with water and strip off the blackfly from nearly every branch by hand. But by the following morning it had completely recovered. Now I keep a careful eye on it.

Erysimum allioni grown from seed after I saw the adult plants at RHS Malvern last year - picture really doesn't do the colour justice, and the scent is incredible. They're in a pot by the back door so I get a waft every time I go outside.

The shady bed has filled in completely; I'm going to have to be brutal with the aquilegia once the flowers go over :rolleyespink:
