What's Looking Good In May 2020

Clematis Guernsey Cream - the main stem was victim to a very clumsy chicken a couple of weeks ago, so I'm pleased it managed to get some sort of display out.



I bought this lewisha for £3 at last year's RHS Malvern and have provided it with exactly zero care since, so counting that as a case of money well spent



I salvaged the remains of this heuchera (I think it's Obsidian) after a bad bout of vine weevil last year; it seems to be pulling through so far...


Another clematis, with a Japanese-ish name that I can never remember without checking

Aquilegias self seeded
Azaleas, thought this one was dead it got covered by the raspberry canes.
A tall deciduous variety

@NigelJ - ah another fan of Desirable Plants!
Here is a rhodohypoxis whose name I don't know. I bought a double from Tympany nurseries some years ago, but that was white/green (Lily Jean) , and a friend gave me some singles. But this year, this one popped up.

 

@2nd_bassoon , that Lewisia looks exceptional.

Hi @Upsydaisy , your garden looks gorgeous.

You are a few weeks in front of us. My Wiegiela is just starting to come into bud and my Zantedeschias are no where near flowering.

Time variations are weird...Logan's Lupins are way ahead of ours, ours are no where near blooming yet!

@CarolineL Desirable Plants were based in Totnes and I used to run into them at plant sales and got a number of plants from them along with good advice.

 

Well I have to admit I did think of you when I was in bed last night Upsydaisy ! ! ! .......
