It will be interesting to see what time of year yours flowers, much earlier I would presume.

Excellent plant @pete - which leucospermum is it, and what compost do you grow it in?

Its "Tango" I bought it online from Madeira the year before we left the EU.
I will be trying some cuttings, hopefully, later in the year so I might need some advice from yourself.
Its growing in a roughly equal mix of ericaceous compost, JI no 2 and sharp grit.
It turned a bit yellow late last summer, but brought it back with a watering of chelated iron.
Its been getting cold tea for waterings through the winter, I only brought it undercover on a couple of occasions all winter.

My Fuchsia, 'Beacon' has got an early start of flowering this year! I have several plants in flower + 1 that I'm training as a standard which won't be allowed to flower this year.

I also have flowers open on Fuchsia 'Garden News'! I took a couple of photos today but haven't uploaded them to the computer to rename yet.

I also have a climbing Fuchsia 'Lady Boothby' with buds that will open any day now.

For some reason it has never grown more than about 6ft tall for me.

'Beacon' has always done very well for me & I've had plants of it going back many years now. It's super easy to root which probably explains why I have so many plants of it! :)

I think growing something in a pot restricts its size. I had an Acer in a pot and it never grew more than about 3 feet but after I planted it in the ground it grew over 6 feet and I had to keep cutting it back.

@pete I have rooted a couple of banksia ericifolia, protea cynaroides has rooted but no change in top growth in over a year, and I have one grevillea from pruning done at the botanic garden (and others from my own garden), but the numbers needed just to get a few to catch are terrible. I still haven't managed to get Leucodendron Jester to root despite many many attempts. I use Clonex rooting liquid which is supposed to be the best.
