One of the Brug cuttings I took last November has decided to flower already.

 

Acer palmatum originally from a one year old seedling bought at Westonbirt one autumn about 18+ years ago.

Vestia foetida from Longk's seed.

I really need more spring colour, by time late May/June comes and the lupins / delphiniums are out I think I don't need spring colour when I've got these , then regret it when Spring arrives again .

My pots haven't done to well this year , quite a lot of stunted tulips which I think is down to me not watering enough , I don't think to water in spring .


Tried ivy in the troughs again pointless the wind trashes them .

Sat outside for a couple of hours so took a few photos. Today is not a holiday here ... we celebrate it on 1st May like the rest of the world!

Bougainvillea with Salvia farinacea which has bloomed non stop all Winter ...


Melaleuca alternifolia (Tea Tree) blooming with Callistemon viminalis still with a few brushes to the left, Iochroma cyaneum hanging in front ...


Geraniums pots starting to go strong now after Winter rest ...

 

Slightly cheating, protea cynaroides in greenhouse:

 

Nice colour.

 

Thanks @pete - I also have P. cynaroides 'Little Prince' which is much redder on the outside and earlier - I prefer this one.
