Looking good Michael, I love Anenomes, must do them again as they did well here but went after a few years.

Ceonothus not so good this year, Feb. winds killed a lot of flower buds

Self sown daisies, not sure where they came from, bit bigger flowers than the usual lawn daisy.

Male Trachycarpus fortunei flowers just coming out.

A neighbour up the close has a ceonothus in his front garden but the frost got at it this year he had to cut it back a bit ,but the plant is still ok.

Buddleja salvifolia strongly scented, can be overpowering close up.

That is a fantastic specimen, Pete! Have you overwintered it containerised in the greenhouse, then? I've thought of trying to grow it here in Notts (in the ground) with winter fleecing, but I don't think it would last long, I'm too absent-minded and we have too many late Spring frosts for it.

Hi Nick, yes its actually two years old, but I dont think they get as tall as the usual E. pininana, I'm going to try for a taller one.
I tried this one some years ago and it didn't last long in the wet, if kept dry I think they are reasonably hardy.
Even my big pininana was wiped out this feb by continual frost and freezing winds.

 

I have agapanthus in the ground and I don't fleece it. It's not a evergreen one so they're hardier.

 

Tall Bearded Iris has four buds,..first bloom from this.
