Pete, Strongy and others - please just keep those lovely pictures coming. I am lost for words - I have never seen or heard of half of your plants!

Its still so cold up here that there is not much showing in the garden, but I thought I ought to find something.

This is Euphorbia griffithii. Like its close relative Poinsettia (Euphorbia pulcherrima), the colour comes from the bracts (coloured leaves) rather than from the flowers themselves, which are pretty insignificant.

    Fantastic photograpphy one and all.

From rhapsodies in blue to flaming oranges, from exotic flowering beauties to magnificent native trees.

    Well done everybody.

    What a gallery!

Thanks for posting your gorgeous euphorbia Peter - I saw it in an open garden just last week, but the owner wasn't sure of it's name! Now I know! It truly is a beauty - I love the colour - it is really firey - I must find myself one! :D

this year the lily of the valley has spread really well, and is really good ground cover and the smell is just heavenly .

and the good thing is i didnt plant them they just appeared about 3 years ago .

the soil where they have rooted is really rubbish and is like builders sand but they must like it , and it has no sun at all where they are.

but i did this year put a big bag of soil in there that was for a camellia because camellia like ericasious(sp) soil , you can just see that newly planted camellia in amongst the lily of the vally

Lily of the valley always reminds me of my dear Gran, it was her favourite purfume. She passed away in 1977 aged 87 years..... I still miss her dearly. 02

yes , plants seem to bring to mind memories of people , bluebells alway remind me of my mom as she loved bluebells . and lupins always reminds me of my next door neighbor when i was a child because her garden was full of them :)

O2 - plant some Lily of the Valley and every time you smell them in the spring, think of her. She won't be too far away from you at moments like that. :)

    Lovely pics as usual Bobj.

You have lots of brushes there, strongy. :)

My Brugmansia has started to open with the warmth and rain but has very little foliage (so I've cropped the lack of leaves out) ....

Bob, I keep my seedlings in the glasshouse for the first year which is why they grow rapidly but they may not flower for three to four years. At least yours are starting to move now.
I still have Mauve Mist , Sieberi, Pinnifolia and Pinnifolia orange/green to come out yet, the Viminallis has no buds so Lol has beaten me there.:D
